Promises of the Bible
Welcome. I am glad you found my blog. First of all, let me tell you that my life has been filled with emptiness, abuse, sorrow, pain, unrest, anger, sadness, depression, fear, etc. The list just goes on and on. For years, I felt like I didn’t know where my life was going. Now, I had been brought up in a protestant church. Suddenly, one night, it hit me out of the blue. I knew what I needed to survive. I needed God. One Sunday, I went to a church in my new hometown. That morning, it was like lightning bolts were striking all around me. I found the promises of God and the love of Jesus Christ. I would like to share the knowledge that God has given me. I would like to share with you the promises that He has shown to me. I want you to know what I found that has made life worth living.
When I read these promises, I have a habit of saying “I receive it!” By claiming these promises for my life out loud, it’s like I’m telling all of the evil in this world to leave me alone. By golly, God says it’s going to be ok and I want to believe that! When I speak these promises out loud and receive them out loud, I am claiming them for my life and solidifying them in my mind. I know that God promises a future filled with good and not disaster. I claim it verbally and suddenly, things start seeming right in my life. Try it for yourself. Claim the promises. Speak them out loud and receive them for your life and your home and your family. Claim them for friends. You can even claim them for your dog or cat or fish.
Before I begin to pour out my heart, allow me to give you a bit of trivia. Most of the Bible was written in Hebrew. There is not a single instance in the Old Testament of the Hebrew word that means “promise”. That word is found many places in the New Testament. However, in the Old Testament, the words “word”, “speak”, and “say” are used. These words are used in context as the word “promise” would be used.

Isn’t it good to know Gods word is true? The revelation of the love he has for us is amazing. God bless you and thanks for sharing.
